As an annual event, Raysut Cement Company usually supports the horsemanship activities and events.

This year the company has sponsored the equestrian week organized by Oman equestrian federation.

As a part of the Salalah tourist festival for the year 2018 during the period from 23-28 July 2018 due to the concept of the company regarding the importance of such an ancient sport of the ancestor to maintain and to activate it annually at Dhofar governorate.

The program of this year was rich of various and different events and activities. One of the first activities was horse march on the occasion of the 23^rd July the day of the blessing renaissance as well as the championship of Salalah tourist festival for peg picking, the competition for ability and endurance, traditional horse sport ( AL A’ardha racing ).

A training course to learn equestrian for children has been organized for the first time as well as horse-riding and the photography for the horsemanship.

The closing ceremony of the horsemanship activities for this year has been organized at Sultan Qaboos youth center for the culture and entertainment.

More than 100 children participating in the training course of horse riding, Oman equestrian federation has organized a training course to learn the children the horse-riding for the first time this year at the equestrian arena as a part of its participation in the Salalah tourist festival opposite the municipal entertaining center. This idea has been proposed by the Oman equestrian federation too teach the existing generations such a sport and to spread it widely. This course has been achieved Sada equestrian school with skillful Omani staff. More than 100 children participated in such a course.

Salalah tourist festival competition for ability and endurance

Five knights won the Salalah tourist festival competition for ability and endurance organized by Oman equestrian federation as a part of 2018 Salalah tourist festival, at Dhofari beach where 14 Dhofari knights were participating the competition was very severe.

Veterinary Check ups

The veterinary committee checked up the horses one day before starting the rare to be sure of the fitness of the competing horses.

Three phases

The competition started in the early morning it included three phases. The first and the second phases were for 30 km for each phase it is in white color but the third phase was for 30 km in green color. A compulsory rest period for 40 minutes for each phase was fixed.

Competition results

The first winner was the horse (Daw) the knight of the horse was Isam Al-Rawas and the trainer was Waleed Ramadan Al-Habshi, the second winner was the horse AL-Zaaem, it was knight was Hamed Mustahail and its trainer was Ahmed Musthail. The third winner was Mumtaza its knight was Ghanim Al-Rawas and the trainer was Ahmed bin Musalam Al-Rawas.

Traditional horse sport event

As a part of 2018 salalah tourist festival the Oman equestrian federation has organized the traditional horse sport activities ( AL Aarda ) under the auspice of His Highness Saad bin Mohammed AL-Mardhoof, minister of sport affairs with the presence of Syed Mundher bin Saif bin Hamed AL-Busaidi, chairman of Oman equestrian federation and his excellency shaikh Rashid bin Ahmed AL-Shamasi vice president of shora council (consultation council) and his excellence Shaikh Salim bin Awfait al Shanfari chairman Dhofar municipality the member of B.O.D of the federation, representatives of equestrian units as participants, cooperative governmental authority officials, and the official of the contributing companies.
