Prime Objectives

The Head of Planning and Mining Operations will lead and oversee all technical aspects of mining planning and operational activities. This includes site planning, production forecasting, and performance monitoring to ensure optimal efficiency, resource utilization, and compliance with industry’s best practices.

Job Location: RCC Muscat Office


Roles & Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement mining and site plans to ensure effective use of mineral resources.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for mining operations and related activities.
  • Oversee quarrying operations with contractors and provide regular progress reports.
  • Track and analyze extracted quantities, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Compile and evaluate data for mining concession areas to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare geological maps and technical reports for exploration and mining programs.
  • Supervise drilling, sampling, field testing, and analyze outcomes.
  • Assess the technical feasibility of projects and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for mining and extraction activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to on-site teams.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of revenues and royalties to the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and technical departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.


Required Skills, Experience & Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in mining planning and operations, including 5 years in quarrying and mining, with proven leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mining processes, equipment, and technology.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in design and planning tools (AutoCAD, Google Earth).
  • Strong communication skills in both Arabic and English
