Prime Objectives

The IT Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer systems, networks, and IT equipment within the organization. This role ensures that all IT systems operate efficiently and that employees receive prompt and effective technical support.


Roles & Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, printers, and other IT peripherals.
  • Provide technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Set up and manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions.
  • Install and update operating systems, applications, and security patches.
  • Monitor and maintain IT systems, servers, and network infrastructure.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, backups, and updates.
  • Maintain antivirus protection and ensure systems are protected from security threats.
  • Maintain documentation of IT procedures, system configurations, and IT asset inventory.
  • Assist with IT-related projects such as system upgrades, network expansions, and technology implementations.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an IT Technician, Help Desk Technician, or similar technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems and common office applications.
  • Basic knowledge of network configuration and troubleshooting.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with servers, virtualization, and cloud services.
  • Understanding cybersecurity best practices.
  • Relevant IT certifications are considered an advantage.
