Celebrating the handicapped International day at Dhofar Governorate

The D.G. of Social development –Dhofar governorate celebrated the handicapped International day which is on 3rd December every year, at Al Wafa Social Centre theatre-Salalah.
The celebration was sponsored by H. Ex Shaikh Salim Bin Awfait AL Shanfari Chairman Dhofar Municipality in presence of a number of officials from the government and the private sector as well as the handicapped parents.
Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al Sabih Director General of D.G. of Social development- Dhofar Governorate delivered a speech on such an occasion explaining that the celebration supported by Raysut Cement company is considered as an International approach to remind people of the handicapped rights to care about such a category and to deliver an International message to achieve the Social Justice in rights and duties.
Al-Sabih has assured that the Sultanate has given great importance to the Social Welfare and enforcement of Laws, regulations and legislations, the most important of which the issuance of the law No, 63/2008 regarding the handicapped welfare and rehabilitation as well as the formation of a supreme committee to care about the handicapped and to provide them with the required services as per the type of the disability.
Poems and plays were shown and presented by some handicapped in addition to that the participants and the sponsors were awarded.
